I have now had to slow down on my restoration project on my ford escort, the car is only 15 years old and yet three parts that i need for the car are no longer being manufactured, i now have to clean the old parts and weld them.

Is any one else having problems getting new parts from a dealer.

So you have a mk IV? under UK law manufacturers only have to make parts for 10 years after a car ceases production, but I wouldnt of thought you'd have problems getting parts for any ford, are you using a parts dept at a main dealer?

I dont know where in the country you are but I use Quickco on Trafford park Manchester, they supply new genuine ford parts & pattern parts and stock everything, you can also try remoco "parts for fords" in Stockport, they specialise in only ford parts new, used and reconditioned and again should be able to get anything you need especially for something as common on the roads as an escort, I'm a bit of a fordy and have had lots of old fords I've never yet not been able to get a part for them.
