are London taxis radioactive proof?
i live in england and i have heard this myth alot, what do you think? |

I don't know who's been filling your head with that nonsense. I've lived in London these past 15 years and I've never once heard this myth. To answer though, no, they most definitely are not radiation proof.

They would be safe from alfa radiation (paper is enough to protect you from that)and probably beta (thin sheet of metal) - but that has nothing to do with the fact that they are taxi's, just the face that they are made of metal.
But gamma will pass straight through the car, it needs some think lead or concret to protet you. But if we are talking of the scale of having a nuke going off in london, diving into the nearest cab won't help you, but if we are talking about a small radio active source then you would be fine |
