I think you can. I haven't tried it, but have seen others edit their posts. I don't like having my real name on here either |

I have had some interactions with dolphins and seen whales. That does not stop me from eating whale meat, just like most Canadians who have seen cows eat beef. However, if I visit a slaughterhouse, I will probably not able to eat meat for a while. As for population and kids, I firmly believe that Paul Watson plans on being in the remaining 1 billion group. Although Watson is against flying, he flies. Once he flew from Maine to save a lobster in a Nevada restaurant, and the lobster died, accomplishing nothing, as usual. |

Good work Ophidian,I like you also believe Watson and Crew are a bunch of idiots. There are better ways to make a point on their cause, but their current methods are not winning over the audience.
Change strategies! na |

But there are already organizations that utilize these methods. Watson uses his methods because they attract donations from the gullible. The SSCS could not sustain itself it it abandoned the violence. It isn't about saving whales, it is about making money. |

I agree agni99, you are correct it's not about whales, but money. Because it makes good TV. But I think the show is hurting their cause not helping.
Hell leave the Japanese alone, and figure out a better way to make them realize your point of view. I feel sorry for the whales and the Japanese. na |

The Sea Monkeys have always been about money and always will. They exploit animals for it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_gTBDFTXE0 "there are over a thousand animals on the endangered species list, and the harp seal isn't one of them."-Paul Watson "See the thing is the (harp) seal is very easy to exploit as an image. We have posters, we have buttons, we have shirts, all of which portray the head of a baby seal with tears coming out of it's eyes." -Paul Watson "I think that the problem that is happening, and that it deserves criticism, is the organization becomes more important than the issue." -Paul Watson Paul Watson is a nutjob!!!! “I’ve known the guy (Watson) for 15 years, and he’s absolutely insane, out of his mind.” — Jim Boland, Greenpeace co-founder |

I watched the entire video. He accuses Greenpeace, IFAW, Animal Protection Institute, and Fund for Animals of using the hunt to raise more money than the money used for any campaigns to stop the seal hunt. The interview is from 1978 and he is talking about the Canadian Harp Seal hunt. Incidentally, Sea Shepherd was not founded until 1981. Try a more recent and relavent article.

Watson saw a money making opportunity with the TV show. However the show freed viewers from reliance on Watson's friends in the media who would write stories about "rotten butter" being thrown on the Japanese. Viewers can now see the glass bottles full of acid and the violence of the SSCS. They can see Watson turning the wheel hard as he rams the Japanese ship. They can see the Sea Monkeys throwing acid directly at crewmen on the stern of the Japanese boat. They can see hollowness of the boasts about stopping whaling when the Japanese kill whales in front of Watson and even transfers a whale right after he rams the ship. They can see the poor seamanship and the utter disregard that Watson has for the safety of his own crew. The criminality is obvious. This is also the internet age. Viewers no longer rely on Watson's media buddies for the facts. They can check for themselves. As viewers realize that the Japanese are whaling legally, that they are whaling a non-endangered species, support for Watson falls. |
