The latest two episodes - their European visit had me in stitches - great TV, great characters.

Now, here's a thing - wouldn't it be grand to have a "Scrapheap Challenge" between a Teutuls crew and a Boyd Coddington crew !! I'm sure that would make for gripping TV !! What do you think ?

Now after meeting Rob Llewllyn at a Red Dwarf Convention (yes i know that sounds totlay sad but hey) and knowing what Sr is like i recon that would be a blast, emagin the crations that would come from the both the Tueutls and Boyd Coddington Crew WHOOOOO!!! bring it on i say, nice thinking Bazza. As for the Europen trip i was also creased in laughter also had a few tears when they was at the grave yard. I visted there on a school trip and again it had me tears. Just wish that they came over here (meaning Wales) we also have some great veiws and a few places that bikers visit, for example The Horse Shoe Pass in Llangothlen or even Betws-y- Code. Hopefully there will be another tip here this summer. My dream is to meet them and the great bikes. Told my partner that when we DO get married i want our honeymoon in Montgomery!!! I can wish hey??

They're a very talented bunch of people - but I'm fed up with the show, it's the same thing every week.

I wasn’t into motorbikes at all until a started watching; now I appreciate the work and artistry that goes into making such vehicles.

But all the tea in China wouldn’t get me on one; unfortunately I’ve passed far too many mangled ones to be that brave.

Yes, even the arguments are starting to look set up, except when they smash things up; they seem to really enjoy that.

i wish they would move it to turbo...

absolutely hate this program, all it does is take up airtime which could be used to air more educational programs.

In all fairness, seeing as how American Chopper is probably the most successful series made by Discovery, it's only fair that the new episodes be aired on Discovery's flagship channel, The Discovery Channel,(When they actualy bother to air the new series instead of deciding at the last minute to show a repeat, like they did last week.) then all repeats should be shown on Turbo where this type of program belongs. And I wouldn't say it isn't educational either, I've learned a hell of a lot about custom bike building and tricks of the trade from watching this program.
Just because you don't personaly like a cirtain subject, that doesn't mean it isn't educational.

programs like chopper and what not are specialist subjects and that subject now has its own channel...

fine if they wont move them to their own dedicated channel (turbo) then why cant they move all programs of the like to the "flagship" channel as you call it and then move all other programs to turbo so we dont have to look at them!

every time i switch on discovery all i see is monster garage, chopper and scrap heap challenge...

its not until after 9 they start to show anything else and chances are its a re-run forensic detectives or cold case files...

looks like discovery channel have run out of discovery's.

you have to admit i do have a point, variety is in short supply on discovery channel Frowner

It'd be educational if they actually showed how things are done - not just shown done. I'll give shows like Wheeler Dealers & A Bike/MG/Mini Is Born their due - they show HOW to replace/repair parts of the vehicles in question, with American Chopper & American Hotrod, you'd have to record the show & then watch it in slow motion to actually see how most things are done.

Personaly, I already know how the mechanics of a motorcycle works, I'm talking about the general design aspects of custom building, how using different custom parts, whether off the shelf or self made, can give a much different look to the finished vehicle, how to stretch a frame, what size front forks to use, how to ascertain what rake or angle to use, how they get a cirtain paint effect and general techniques used in custom building. All of these and much more has been explained on American Chopper and American Hotrod and on Biker Build-Off they even show you animated diagrams to show you how the design works, especialy anything new and/or unusual.
Besides...I find the programs themselves entertaining as well as educational.

Ahhh....so it's only educational if madgooner actualy likes the program? And here's me thinking I'd learned a few things about custom bikes from watching it.
Y'know, by insulting someone who you simply have a difference of opinion with over what programs they like to watch, it does make you seem a little pathetic.
I'd keep watching the educational programs if I were you, maybe you'll learn about a couple of things called 'live and let live' and 'each to their own' but please don't try and start a battle of wits with me as I fear you may not have the neccesary equipment to hand.

Im more of a car nut than a bike nut, but i love American Chopper. Im a sheet metal worker by trade so i really dig all the fabrication that goes into every bike they make at OCC.I think my fave bike has to be the Carol Shelby bike. the work that went into making the tank and the fenders was amazing.

Can't understand why your showing this program. Its full of racists and burnt out has-beens who enjoy ignoring ethnic minorities and thrive on offensive behaviour like wearing 'Nazi' helmets and mis-treating each other. Please clean up your channel and getv rid of this rubbish.

Recently got into this after seeing part 1 of the Australian special on Sky Anytime. I'd love to see parts 2 and 3 of this - could anyone tell me if/when they will be shown? Thanks! Smiler

I agree with Trophy Dave, why is American Chopper on Discovery? It should be on some entertainment channel, not a documentary based channel!

Please stop this terrible program, it's not worth watching it. It's a waste of time while there could have been a great documentary on.
Stop programs like Chop Shop, Ludolfs, OCC, Overhaulin and all the other "shows" where animals (re)build cars and bikes, and also these programs where idiots in front of the cameras show what they dare to do like Survivorman, One way out, and all these others.
Return to the good documentaries the way Discovery started.

PLEASE!!!!!
