About a year ago I bought a nice new expensive widescreen TV. I have Sky satellite and the TV works well for most of the terrestrial channels and a fair amount of Sky ones. It changes itself to the widescreen view when a widescreen programme is on and back to 4:3 when not.

Unfortunately, however, it does not go into widescreen for any of the Discovery channels.

Is there something wrong with my TV? Many of the programmes have obviously been made in widescreen as they fit the format.

Is there a possibility that this is a taboo subject - I've searched the whole site and the forums for "widescreen" and it doesn't come up anywhere ?!!

Well Steve-C, Discovery doen't broadcast in widescreen which is the problem and what pouts me off watching. Good news thought is that within the next few weeks National Geographic will be broadcasting in widescreen and i shall be able to watch there output. poor discovery will be left out to dry.

It seems like now they all want us to spend a fortune and take up HD TV. What on earth will that be like if they can't even get widescreen on normal digital. It is all a big con !!
