I always like TV channels that give objective information with no color of politics, religion and contain no element that some other TV programs depend on for existence. That is why I like Animal Planet, Discovery.
So I believe with such truthful spirit of Discovery, the team may take a look at their program Pandamonium played at 13:00 on Wed. 21 Oct. 2009 (Singapore). There is a side voice in the program that narrates “Tuan Tuan & Yuan Yuan (means ‘Union’), two pandas from Wolong, China, failed their political obligation because they were turned down by Taiwan.” The fact is Tuan Tuan & Yuan Yuan did arrive Taiwan end of last year. I remember it clearly because there were pouring news occupying all TV channels of Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, covering the exclusive feeders, ground transport team and exclusive air plan, travel itinerary... the pandas’ acclimatization… etc. The news was too much to possibly avoid at that time. I did not expect a channel, free of political-stand like Discovery would mention a diplomatic task of the two pandas (Sorry. On the second throughts, it may add more attraction to the audiences who have been used to the politics.), but if we are going to put it out there, maybe we need to make it right. Below attached is a weblink that covers some official news regarding the Uion Pandas. http://english.sina.com/z/081222pandapair/index.shtml Hope this feedback helps in the edition of your next program. |

Dear 'Discovery Audience'.
This has been relayed to the relevant teams and they are currently in the process of amending the shows in question to reflect the issues that you have, correctly, highlighted above. Thanks very much for bringing this to our attention. The Editorial Team |
