Hello! I work in a scottish nursery. We have children from 4months until 3years old. I'm foreign and there are many things in the nursery which in my opinion are unacceptable and would never be allowed in my country! The ladies working in a nursery are using shaving foam and put naked babies (6-10months old)to play in it!!! They are taking three babies to a separate room, then spraying shaving foam all over the big plastic matt, stripping babies to napies, putting them in the shaving foam and encourage them to play and roll in it!!! It ends up that the babies eat the shaving foam and they are all covered in it which is absolutely horrible in my opionion...Shaving foam may cause allergies on the delicate baby's skin, not even considering the fact the baby might be seriously ill after eating it!I don't believe that in Scotland this is absolutely legal and acceptable!!! After play the baby is washed in a small box filled with water (the water is not changed for the next baby), so the shaving foam is still noticeable on baby's skin!!! I would like to add that they do the same with paint!!! They put stripped baby on a plastic matt which is earlier covered in different colours of paint, put the baby in a paint and give the baby a piece of paper and they expect the 7months old baby will paint!!! I came to the room through the activity and I saw that one baby instead of painting was covered in paint and eating paper, which was covered in paint too!!! The person who was doing the activity didn't even realise and when I said: "The baby is eating something"- the lady took it off and said: "It's ok..they all do so!!!" I'm absolutely shocked and I would be grateful if anyone could explain why they do the things like this to babies??? I went to university to study childcare and I have never heard about things like that! Thanks
